I learned the truth about the truth by praying for God to show me the truth. He told me the truth was not the truth. I no longer believe in a god or can identify one, but I did act in harmony with my prayers and did exstensive reading and research of the bible, Jw's, religion and god. I did read Ray Franzes books and a book called 30 years a watchtower slave. At that time I knew the truth was not the truth. Then I started watching youtube videos of the atheist experice and other related subjects. I found that I could not argue with the videos. Matt Dillahanty and Aaron Ra and Tracie Harris. I could never find anything to argue with them about regarding being an atheist. I realize I have been an atheist all my life because I did not agree with many of the JW's or Christianities teachings or ways. I never chose Jw's I was born in it. It took me 30 years to escape. There was no internet and the religious section in book stores was very small. Back in the 80's I got a news letter from a former JW, which was a precursor for me to this site. In my 68 years, I read the bible cover to cover 10 times and made notes and researched. At first I found parts of the bible uplifting. But eventually by my own experiences and observing, I realized the bible did not add up. It did not seem to be written by a wise all knowing powerfull entity. It reavealed itself to be a hodge podge of writings by many eventually used by the Roman emperor Constatine to unite his empire. I label myself an atheist, I do not hate god. In fact I still look for him. But like Big foot and the Flying spaghetti monster his hiding skills are to crafty for me. So I have to conclude he does not exist until further evidence is presented.

Why did Jehovah Kill all the animals in the flood? What purpose did it serve??
by pistolpete insome of my jw family that is waking up posed that question to my jw family that is still hanging on to jw belief.. the stepbrother that posed that question told me;.
"in all these years of being a jw, i actually never gave it much thought as to why jehovah had to kill millions of innocent animals that had nothing to do with mankind becoming evil.".
i keep picturing in my mind, all the baby puppies and kitties that were destroyed by jehovah.

I really don't know why Jehovah had a flood. I know he did not. It is all myth. But from a mythological stand point the global flood, all the killing and blood shed did not endear me to the mythical biblical god.

What Do Today’s Jehovah’s Witnesses Really Think?

I don't know what todays JW's are all about. My elder brother in law told me he misses the days of the old JW's. My jw family members are always trying to reactivate my wife and I. I always say its not the watchtower society I left and i have no interest in your new religion. I do remember when I was in during the 70's, they said they would always have book study groups. No matter what the government tried to do they would always have the book study. The devil and covid seems to have shut down the book study. As far as I know. Maybe they are secretly having book study groups.

Will You Get Back To Normal After Covid Subsides?
by minimus insome say we will never get back to pre-pandemic days.
others say we should expect to live with masks and social distancing as the “new normal “.
still others are hopeful that we can live life realizing there might never be an end to covid or cancer or influenza but our lives must continue to go on.

Every time the republicans get in office something terrible happens, like allowing the trade towers to be knocked down and not shooting the jets down before the hit the tower, even though we spend billions of dollars on having the ability to do that. And terrible things like invading the wrong country and causing the deficit to go up trillions of dollars. The operating thesis of the republican party is that government is bad and they do everything they can to illustrate their point. So I have to say given the way the republican party opperates that the trump, china virus was no accident. And just like we can no longer fly on airplanes or enter sports stadiums with out jumping through a great many hoops. I think their will be much residue from this latest republican blunder/ social pyschological manipulation.

I was raised as a witness from one year old. I was born 1952. I was always bombarded with talk and words of armageddon. I remeber the paradise book with the people being swallowed by earthquake. The Jw's brainwashed me that armegeddon was coming and school education was a bad thing. I don't know if that made me have faith in armegeddon but it sure altered my way of thinking. When 1975 came, I felt I was free from that crazy religion, but I did not know how to escape. It took me until 1983 to just stop going and saying no more. Now as I analyze my situation, I find I am catagorized as an atheist. I do believe wackadoodle right wing republican christians could bring about a man made armegeddon. But with TRump stock hitting an all time low, its not a big worry today.

Can we stick to topics that we came that we came to this forum in the first place?
by James Jack ini don’t care about politics, books you are reading, movies and tv programs you’re watching, etc..

When you turn your computer on you do not have to read everything that appears on your screen. When I used to watch tv, I had a dial to change the channel if I did not like the program. When you go to a page you do not care for, just scroll on. Hit the back button or the forward button or your favorites. You do not have to read what you do not like.

Will we eventually evolve into “Creators” GODS?
by I believe in overlapping inhumanity is slowly leaving behind ancient stories of a god who created adam and eve and punished their children for eating the forbidden produce.
some people with vision like yuval noah harai, sam harris, elon musk, and others, caution the intellectuals of the world to tread cautiously in regard to artificial intelligence, (ai) development.
most experts don’t share their viewpoint mostly because they think they know more than they do, and they think they are smarter than they are.

Will we eventually evolve into “Creators” GODS?
I think we very possibly we are now. Elon Musk says there is a 99.9% probability that we are in a computer simulation right now. Many physicist agree. If we are in a simulation I will go one step further and say there is a good probability that we put ourselves in the simulation and chose the parameters that we operate in. All of that considered we could be at least gods.
I would think to be a creator god you would have to write and develop the program before getting into it.
When you get done with this program ask yourself were you the designer? Then you will have your answer.

Do You Have A Negative Outlook Because You Were Once A JW?
by minimus init could be argued that exjws have issues in life simply because they were jehovah’s witnesses at a point in their lives.
.
do you think you or we are fairly normal considering we were jehovah’s witnesses or do you think we have a lot of baggage because we are a bit messed up ( even if we don’t even know it)?.

Sometimes I am negative and depressed. But I am always working on it. I have been looking into "My Big Toe" the theory of everything. Using Quantum physics. By Thomas Campbell.
I am understanding that very possibly I chose my parents and I chose my false religion as a learning experience as something to rise above.
So when I find myself negative because of my JW experience, I reflect on this information and start to make sense of my life and become a player.

Anyone pissed at their parents for raising you in the cult?
by blownaway inmy mother was not the most emotionally stable person.
she was a follower and instilled in me the idea we were better than those worldly people.
its hard to go to school as a child and you can not be friends outside of school, you can not celebrate any holidays, and you are told all these people are going to die.

I have a lot of anger with my mother for raising me as a witness. And I have anger with my father for allowing her to raise me as a witness. I am 65. My mother just died this week at 87. I guess I will have this anger until the day I die.
I hate the JW cult.
